Unfortunately I had the seal to return again and for the following reasons:
- As I unpacked the door seal, I noticed immediately that the rubber mixture is much harder than that of the original seal. I was wondering how long it can be kept as a relatively inflexible seal because it is constantly in motion during washing and spinning. The rubber of Miele original seal is much softer and more flexible. This explains probably the difference in price. Quality is just more expensive.
- After installation of the door seal, which was performed by an expert, I have carried out with a small laundry load the spin program. After spinning a good resistance to skidding of the door seal on the drum was found. Even after installation notes the expert, that the gap between the rubber blade and the drum is considerably smaller than in the original seal. During spinning, therefore dragging the drum on the rubber lip. The drum was very hot and small rubber particles were distributed in the wash.
The door seal is then removed and sent back immediately again. I can not tell you if I accidentally get a seal that different dimensions of the original seal has, or whether all these alternative seals are not fit naturally.
I therefore recommend that anyone who buys this door seal necessarily perform the spin test: Put some laundry into the drum, start spin program and then check to see if a good resistance to skidding is to determine the rubber lip. Who wants to make sure the original purchases.
I have, after the bad experience with the alternative seal, decided that expensive Miele seal to buy that fit properly and with whom I have had no problems until today.
