Of course there are downsides, not all of the new inspired me equally.
- Viewfinder picture has become significantly smaller. One can probably get used to it, but what Canon was thinking, I will probably a mystery.
- The feel is a bad track. So z. B. the grip surface as opposed to the SX10 IS no longer rather roughened, but smoother.
- The overall impression was of high quality with the SX10 IS
- I have changed here and there with the user prompts me even settle, the first impression I was wondering why something needs to be changed proven. But that is probably already have.
- The SX10 IS has been equipped with "normal" mignon batteries (AA), also available with AA batteries. The SX30 IS needs a modern lithium battery.
Advantage SX10 IS: AA batteries you can get almost anywhere, AA batteries and chargers are cheap
Advantage SX30 IS: Probably keeps a fully charged lithium battery last longer by and has more power (!?). We'll see ...
A few days later and about 200 pictures: Except for the smaller viewfinder I got used easily to the "new". To date put forward such reviews rattling and loud Zoom, deterioration etc. I can understand in any way. What annoyed me much more that now no lens hood is included and that one again must shell out for about 25. On the other hand, the lens cap is finally secured with a cord to the chassis. The fact that the SX30 IS can no longer be supplied with "normal" batteries - you should know that before you buy (or should know - information is everything). For whom is a knock-out criterion is who should you please look for another camera.
Conclusion: for me the criticisms are personally not so serious - a point I have to pull unfortunately. Nevertheless, the camera makes a lot of fun.
