Otherwise, very good touch screen (the many Mac-book users will astonish), only for very small "font-hyperlinks" somewhat hard to hit with "sausage fingers", Internet Explorer for normal demands optimally, all other browsers I have installed ( Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Safari) and this super respond to touch, and Javascript menus work better there than in IE, that is, if you go on a link and another menu should be opened on mouse-hover / is open, is this is interpreted as hover feature in browsers when tapping. If you want to access an external NAS hard drive / media server with the Win8-on-board Gallery, one is desperate, I did not make it, but there are but at the store anyway better Gallery apps. My wife was very skeptical, without mouse to operate a computer and is now endlessly enthusiastic something does not work as a simulated right-click, is still the mouse pad there, but we need it as well as ever and when you need it, reacts it satisfactorily.
The performance index is between 4.9 (graphics) and 6.1, processor / memory 5.9. It can be excellent with the device "work", I think for normal claims in every respect an excellent and high-quality hardware. I can imagine also super good for students / trainees. My version is Touch Pentium 2117U 1.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD.
Automatic Updates are a pain, I completely turned off and take me once every two to three months for it. Otherwise one waits at a restart to death.
As part of this little wonder is very popular with us, I'm going for my daughter still buy a second device (wonderful size to take away to school for presentations with PowerPoint presentations!). Connections are up to date and without adapter and HDMI is available, extend, or mirror the screen a breeze, the lack of Bluetooth is indeed expanding with NEM small USB adapter for few euros unproblematic. USB 3.0 on board, well made, Asus!
A backlit keyboard would have made it perfect, would it upped the ante and another 50 euros, a pity that this is not to have, because the netbook even for couch-surfing is wonderful (but for a short entry, there is a touch keyboard on the screen). Never ever I would exchange it for a tablet, because there is a "real" computer with all the benefits and lots of fun (not least 8 suddenly find when visitors marvel at the touchscreen, Windows really great ;-) )
If you are wondering about bad headphone sound: Judging by connecting a cable to the desktop, you can configure the sound for headphones or external speakers there. Unfortunately, this window will not slide over the Win8 interface, but you have unfortunately (as so often) go to the desktop! Win8 is immature, even though it's fun here, happen again and again started "by accident" that you can not logically understand. Thus is already questionable whether a newcomer, such as older people, really better to deal with it than with the classic start button (can be retrofitted with Freeware Classic Shell).
Clear, very strong buy recommendation.
