Positive
+ The Playbar tends at higher volumes to uncomfortable to sound through the sub, this effect is compensated in the bass range.
+ Dance and Lounge music is great support
+ With the combination Playbar and sub you are well prepared for any party, especially in the sub Parties like the strong "oomph" very good
Negative
- The bass is not clean integrated into the overall frequency range, the upper bass range and the deep midrange is weak
- The Playbar tends now to act flashy, I have therefore reduced the heights (Equalizer), now it fits almost back. But especially at higher volumes it is still too treble-heavy.
- In some situations (especially on television) you will be distracted by the bass: deep "gewummert" and "grumbling" from Sub disruptive.
I must say that I (lowering bass) when used on the television in general, the Night and the speech circuit have (the opposite of loudness, ie reduction of treble and bass) enabled. Nevertheless, it comes to disturbing effects. I have now placed the sub at a different location and was able to minimize the disruptive effect.
In my living room is next to the Sonos setup still a stereo system (quality from the 90s) ... the sound is better, especially the subtle integrated bass of the great tower speaker. Nevertheless, I will break down the stereo because I miss the comfort of ease of use as well as easy access to my music collection (on a NAS drive). In addition, the sound of spatially restrained songs component is simply impressive: you get for little "sound furniture" much sound.
My final conclusion:
Combining Playbar and SUB is very good. Anyone who uses the Playbar in a small living room and not too large volume needs (Party), which is sufficient without Playbar Sub!
