I had ordered the lens from Amazon very early and got it delivered, because it was not available, according to product description. We are then flown 3 weeks after Costa Rica and I had to decide if I take the Zeiss 12mm Touit and the Fuji 23mm or only the Fuji 10-24mm. I then decided to use the Fuji-Zoom, weight always plays a role in long walks. Now, after reviewing all predominantly rainforest landscapes and some comparisons with the Zeiss and the Fuji 23mm I can say that the Fuji 10-24mm an excellent wide-angle lens is. The picture quality is very very good, I really know only minimal differences from the fixed focal lengths. In wide-angle, it is usually on a large depth of field, as the luminous intensity of 4.0 does not interfere. But one has the image stabilizer that compensates some aperture.
The autofocus is very fast and almost silent (unlike some other Fuji lenses), the zoom setting has the correct resistance, not too light and not too heavy. Overall, the lens makes a very valued and well-crafted appearance.
