My choice criteria:
After 400 D that gave much satisfaction, I wanted a more powerful device, the series 350-550 is a decidedly delicate grip (handle too small) so I was using for my 400 D-type grip and BGE3 suddenly the camera is heavier and bulkier.
The 60 D is perfect for me - much less heavy and less bulky than the 7D - but the grip and the grip is much nicer than the 550.
I have not known the joystick 50 D, but integrated into the main dial directional wheel poses no particular problem to navigate the menus.
SD card rather than CF: this is not a problem given the price of SD cards (especially on Amazon: Transcend 16 Giga Class 10-25 is cool) - I gave my CF cards with my 400 D, AC made a happy!
The 18 MP sensor equivalent to 550 7D and sounds perfect (the first images made)
Management highlights shows considerable improvement over the 400D
The viewfinder is very bright - the difference with the 7D is minimal.
collimators are many mons the 7D, that's right. But, I am sorry picture there is only one possible focus! Multiply the sensors is not necessarily a good thing (see the difficulties of some wildlife photographers with the 7D!)
Autofocus is fast and seems reliable with my current goals.
The exposure metering of 63 zones is much more interesting, the camera analyzes the differences much better brightness and contrast, and "treatment" of the image is affected.
I could finally use my Canon 430 EX flash in addition to the built-in flash: the 60D control 430 without problems and portrait results are very nice.
The last screen is a marvel: finally I have not the imprint of my nose on this beautiful bright screen and very high resolution! (Yes it is a reflex, is designed to take pictures while looking through the viewfinder ...)
HD video: awesome especially 50i / sec and there the swivel screen is a plus.
The finish is very good. The 60D is "made in Japan".
In summary: very good successor 50 D - The 7D remains professional and 550 to be reserved for small hands and for traveling (weight / size)
Nikon D7000 fate that should be a hit too. Just a tip: Observing the hand before buying, it seems to me that the grip of the D7000 is a little thin ...
