The first impression is already unpacking very good. Even the packaging alone makes an impression of quality and gives an idea of the buyer that you are dealing with any product from the middle price range.
The headset itself is processed very clean and pleasant hard, but not as exaggerated as some claim on various sites and in other reviews.
The copper-colored finish pleases me very well personally and fits the overall design of the headphones.
The size adjustment is working with a pleasant resistance and remains firmly locked in the respective position.
The ear cushions made of leather are sufficiently large in size to actually enclose the ear.
The headband is rubberized on the bottom and is also well on the head on.
As for the high-quality look and feel, so this also applies to all items that the M40.
The included 3.5mm jack cable is sheathed fine, the jack have gold plated connectors, the leather case is a more than fancy eye-catcher and the velvet bag for the M40 is also worked wonderfully.
After this "experience" I was more tense on the first impression. I was absolutely not disappointed. You already know the Klipsch Image One headphones, so you will feel the sound of the M40 bit these recalls.
Here, however, come up in addition the sound characteristics of an over-ear headphone for validity. The foreclosure of the outside world is enormous even without active noise-canceling function. Since I use the headphones at home, NC is anyway not an issue for me. Of course, I tried it for testing purposes and to me it seemed then, as a connected equalizer.
The Klipsch has overall a great sound. At the beginning, you can feel that there is the famous curtain effect. After prolonged use and a certain break-in period but this loses completely and you will be just thrilled by the natural and very dynamic sound reproduction. The fact that the M40 is a two-way headphones, and treble voices come across very clearly. The centers are very well separated from the rest and stand out pleasantly from the depths off. They also left a "punchy" impression of personally like me.
Now we come to Bass. The Klipsch headphones are indeed generally for their good bass reproduction known (some users even very ;-)). The M40 are the good reputation second to none and provide a neat, controlled and differentiated bass. Here, however, the following should be noted: If we use the M40, like me, mostly on a notebook, you should possibly think about the purchase of a headphone amplifier or a USB sound solution. I have yet to get on some very (deep) bass-heavy pieces the impression that the performance of the notebook is too weak to fire the M40 accordingly. This happens especially in upmarket levels. By connecting the M40 but to an AVR (in my case an Onkyo TX-SR508), then one is carved from the headphones really socks off. -D
Furthermore, one should also take care of the headphones To be fair, with the corresponding source material, because even the best headphones or speakers do not achieve the desired effect, for example, when a 128 kbit / s MP3 file droning to himself ... ;-)
So far, I regret buying the Fashion M40 not a bit and am always thrilled regardless of the genre, from the dynamic, fun-filled and full sound of the headphones.
Unpleasant me so far only the pressure of Kofhörer noticed the ears. But since I have not used this for so long, lies down this time possibly if it has adapted to the head shape.
Addendum of 21:04:15:
Meanwhile, I can not think of at the beginning of something unpleasant pressure on the ears no longer on, even during longer sessions this is not a problem. Thus, this effect seems to occur only at the beginning, when the headset has not yet adapted to the head shape.
Otherwise, I can absolutely recommend the headphones audiophile people. The optics in this case is anything but window dressing, the sound characteristics are the second to none.
