Pretty successful, but still well overpriced for what it is

I have the black version (in 0.5 mm) of this mechanical pencil, aesthetic and excellent manufacturing quality. For the record, the object in question is designed in Germany according to the packaging, but made in Japan; Rotring owned by a US holding company, which also sells products Waterman, Parker and Reynolds ... and its European headquarters in Switzerland.

Anyway, if the quality is good, the use of this pencil is fairly classic. Two elements distinguish it from other products more affordable: the fully retractable mine and the rubber tip that allows (once the retracted mine) use this object as a stylus. At the other end, you are entitled to the classic micro-gum (which will be quickly consumed) under the removable cap - which is so easy to lose, unfortunately.

The use is nice, even though we bring much compared to a more basic model. The stylus function is improved, the rubber part is too broad to be specific enough (on a small tablet or smartphone, it can be annoying) and supports are not always taken into account (I think there, it depends a lot touchscreen use.)

In short, good product, but just relative value average.
