My equipment:
Olympus E-PL2
Olympus E-M5 OM-D; M.Zuiko 1.8 / 45; M.Zuiko 3.5-6.3 / 12-50; Zuiko 2.8-3.5 / 14-54II; M.Zuiko 4.0-5.6 / 40-150 R; M.Zuiko 1.8 / 75
Expected small picture: ... M.Zuiko 1.8 / 90; M.Zuiko 3.5-6.3 / 24-100; Zuiko 2.8-3.5 / 28-108; M.Zuiko 4.0-5.6 / 80-300 R; M.Zuiko 1.8 / 150
If you look at this is a very good lens equipment for all conditions, the small image data.
So that everyone has from 24mm wide angle to 300mm telephoto, and it can be compiled every possible combination of lenses for all shooting situations.
Both M.Zuiko ZOOM lenses do a very good job, the "Fußzoom" lenses even better and somehow I'm going to change lenses again.
With MFt I discovered the fixed focal lengths for me again and added my feet in motion.
The fixed focal length lenses are pretty small, light and extremely sharp because making pictures fun and you can always take all.
All 4 M.Ft lenses that I use currently weigh ca.800gr. and can be stored in the smallest camera bag.
With my two zoom lenses I have for the little trip with lighter equipment on the road and can a range of 12 - 150mm use (24-300 mm film).
There is always talk of "kit" lenses, I do this also, but I find the notion somehow unhappy.
Usually I buy the camera body, looking for me to the appropriate lenses, so I got this lens purchased separately.
Also, far too quickly "kit lens" rated with poor performance, has somehow gained in the ratings system.
There are always better and worse.
This objective here is one of the much better if you also considered this price.
Olympus manages in Ft mFt and repeatedly produce good optics.
Is used the lens to the E-M5 OM-D and the Pen E-PL2.
Plus points of 4.0-5.6 / 40-150 R:
+ Small and lightweight, fits very well with the pen and OM-D system especially also because of the R (retro style)
+ Aperture 4.0 to 5.6 are for a 40-150 (80-300) in this price league a very good value
+ 40-150 (80-300mm) is already a decent telephoto to this price
+ Excellent sharpness performance already at full aperture, super of 5.6 - 11, provides sufficient scope for enlargements up to A4, even up to A3
+ Because Olympus camera lenses Intern "beautiful anticipates" you do not fight in JEPG with distortion, vignetting and similar
* Also in the RAW these are not strong and can be easily edited, depending on the need, objective here has very good values
+ Excellent color and contrast representation
Minus point:
- Missing Gegenlichtblende
* Here I've been using for 20 years my Cokin filter system A & P, once purchased, can be used for all lens sizes
Conclusion:
# Highly recommended lens which is often underestimated
# Hardly affords significant weaknesses
# Price - performance ratio very good
