Unlike the usual lighters they work here roughly according to the principle of a jet engine. Accordingly, a tapered flame jet shoots 3-5cm wide straight out from the end of the lighter with a little pressure approx. The very hot flame burns always in direction of the tube and not upwards, as normal lighters (see my customer image). Is ignited by a beaded catalyst element in the center of the flame, which glows bright red during operation. If this element is still cold (after long periods of nonuse), it does not ignite in the first ever attempt reliable but not later than the second. This pearl depends on two very thin wire strands, which represent, in my opinion the weak point of this design. The gas mileage is (slightly) higher than normal lighters, but one is so that wet or semi "drowned" wicks and moist woods in seconds effortlessly on fire.
The level of the tank can be determined by means of a viewing window at any time at a glance.
About the durability of these refillable lighters I will report in a few months at this point.
Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase date.
