Previously, it was possible in the workflow PSE9 and LR in PSE to edit photos from LR out and save them as jpeg in PSE. This JPEG photos were recorded correctly in finished form in LR catalog. In addition, the default settings in LR, such as setting the file type as a jpeg for the external editor was (here PSE9) also takes account of PSE9 correctly automatically. This is in PSE13 now no longer possible.
If you want to edit photos from LR about editing in the editor PSE13, the edited photos are not automatically as in the preferences of LR specified as saved jpeg in finished form. First, you have to specify in PSE13 jpeg explicitly the file format. Then, however, the pictures are taken only with no editing as a JPEG copy in LR in the catalog.
In PSE13 the edits are only recognized at the photos, if you intend to save the photo as a TIF, but enormously means much space.
Here there is apparently a bug in PSE13.
Problem is that you can not receive any support for PSE by Adobe. There are only an English-language forum and a chat. But the chat also does not help and only refers to the well known collection of FQAs, but where there are also no solution.
Adobe is otherwise accessible either via email or by telephone. In this respect it is with such problems as completely alone.
Otherwise PSE13 certainly an evolution of PSE9. Although the differences for the main processing are very low. The surface is lighter designed (which I personally wg. Contrast not so like) and the operation appears more comfortable for beginners. Highlight is certainly the 64bit assist it. However, what I miss in PSE13, is a 16-bit support in the image processing, as it supports LR.
If the support more customer-friendly and accessible to assistant during troubleshooting, would the product of my 5 star get (only 4 additionally because of my view not so successful overall layout has, however, actually. 1 star because of the 64bit support).
Schade Adobe! Even if I had found the above-mentioned problem in the trial, the lack of support in JPEG workflow with LR5 (LR5.6) is a throwback.
