The foot is rather "heavy" at least enough to maintain sufficient stability even with a first-generation iPad (quite heavy) in full flexion and full stretching of the "gooseneck" adjustable.
The lower stem that contains the extension tube is good, it is not steel, which I think would still add some weight to the product, but it seems sufficiently strong to keep in time. The stability of this part is increased and maintained its tightening by adding a washer-type room with welts that come crashing and increase the contact surface trapping the tube in the foot, the plastic used to think a leash rapid wear if tightening is not well adjusted (neither too much nor too little), in my case it did not move, but I think this point needs special attention during assembly.
The extension tube is in the same material as the lower tube, any time, its smaller diameter makes it a little more "light" without risking a bending or deformation by the weight of a tablet.
On the down tube is a clip which allows the blocking of the top tube, it required a bit of a clamp with the supplied Allen wrench to affirm tightening and allow good support. Once this "correction" or rather adjustment made all yours up wonderfully.
The "gooseneck" Tilt, which is the way to get the desired positioning is pretty good, although it supports curls infliction, and allows relatively easy to get the angle and curve desired. However, it is on this point that the product lacks quality. Indeed, in my case I use it with a 3rd generation iPad and a first generation, in both cases (especially in the case of the first generation iPad) it is difficult to use the "collar Swan "too eccentric position, the weight of the tablet is too large and causes a gradual but steady decline in the corner and therefore it is impossible to position it exactly as desired, which is still really annoying. The problem is less with this iPad 3rd generation, there is hardly any time in place if it is not on a slope or end stop either double curve (hard to explain the thing). I still sometimes find positions that are suitable to my use, it remains a handicap for this kind of product that suggests that the desired position is applicable to the product!
The shelf support part is really well thought out, its mounting system is rather clever, it limits the problems related to change in size, but as default become "bulky" for some tablets. The support is in three parts, a sort of rail which is clipped on the "swan neck", the lack of works also creates a game that is beyond the scope of operation and which could be reduced if the precision of works at the Production was thinner, it does not gene but excessive use generates additional movement in eccentric position that can annoy during repeated presses of the finger (consecutive) as the tablet starts really moving. The other two parts of the attachment are kinds of arcuate clamps which allow the housing of the corners of the tablet and can slide over a few centimeters (5 cm on one side and 7 cm from each other), in my case with an iPad 3rd generation I'm pretty abut each side.
Tightening these arcuate bracket is done with small plastic wheels that are sufficient to exert a strong tightening, and seems not to be too fragile.
The arcuate support are covered with a semi-hard foam padded, avoiding severe damage to both the tablet and maintain properly, this foam made of low-end appearance, yet she does not seem to crumble .
In terms of functional ergonomic adjustable arch support circle through the rail, if I take the example of an iPad 3, a few millimeters near the load port may be unusable, we arrive at easily connect and disconnect the plug, but it does not lack much so that it becomes a problem! Any time if this should occur, it would suffice dintervertir the tablet position (put the top right instead of left and vice versa) to resolve the matter in the case of an iPad the only problem would be the button positioning Home .
In any case, I managed to accommodate multiple tablets, Samsung Galaxy Tab and iPad without difficulties.
In short this is well thought out, but due to imperfections in the manufacturing quality and the choice of system of "gooseneck" that is not rigid enough to hold the tablet in too eccentric positions, it is not But not the worst I've had in my hands on that!
I recommend this product that has real asset in facing these competitors, freedom of positioning of the product that does not need to set it to a desired object near the place is really a plus! I hope that this product will be subsequently improved, there are a few points, the game of the rail clip system that supports cross is inconvenient to use in consecutive strikes, and stiffness of the gooseneck can be improved further !
In terms of packaging, the product is well protected, and the weight of the foot which could endomagé the remaining parts of this support does not come in direct contact during transport, even if we see that the cardboard that keeping up suffered during transfers of cardboard!
Delivery is consistent with the advertised product.
I withdrew two star product because it improvements are possible, I have long hesitated to put 4 stars instead of 3, but the games of all genes in consecutive strikes to not be too penalizing!
