Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Blood Sugar Sex Magik" is considered by many fans Peppers, straight from the "insiders", as the best Red-Hots-plate at all. And rightly so.
This one has a quite a bit to make out of the rock genre coming Peppers fan with strong links to the melodically outstanding hits of the Super-albums "Californication" and "By the way" to acclimatization work until you look at the funkier and more of Rap has appropriated embossed style of this album.
The 17 tracks on "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" appear at first glance less seriously and not as accessible as their successors by the recent albums. Rather, a summer party feeling is spreading, it is much rapping, the rhythmic elements are clear in relation to the melodic foreground. But if even the melodious "Scar Tissue" fan has become accustomed, he will find that "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", first simply makes good mood, and second is one of the most versatile and most exciting rock recordings ever. For every mood, at least one song is (or even several) case, and although the band, of course, in the instrumentation on their basic occupation (vocals, bass, guitar, drums) limited, sound and atmosphere vary enormously without the clearly recognizable album context characterized would be affected. The songs on the album form an unbeatable strong unit from start to finish:
The aggressive, politically tinged rap "Power of Equality" is a great opener, danceable, lively and highly dynamic. Stylistically similar, but even more because of one of the most brilliant radio guitars that I've ever heard coined presents the second track, "If you have to ask."
An alternative program to then provides the pop and acoustic sounds embossed "Breaking the Girl" before with "Funky Monks" my secret favorite of the disc is heard, which lives again by John FruscianteŽs guitar and consists of different, varied song parts, a mid-tempo radio air rock song out of a storybook. Hardener, aggressive, but equally awesome it comes to "Suck My Kiss" to (That's malŽn love song !!!), before with "I could have lied" a sparingly arranged, beautiful ballad sounds, in which Anthony Kiedis with soulful vocals and John Frusciante playing with the ultimate guitar solo of the album in the foreground.
As a consequence, lead the typical for the album Rap-rock numbers "Mellowship slinky" and "Righteous and The Wicked" for top hit "Give it away" on, in my opinion, however high on a par with its predecessor 2 Tracks stands.
Then heard the title track, another cool-aggressive "Anthony Kiedis-Sex Machine Love Song" first class.
With the melancholy pop-melodic "Under the bridge" is then followed by perhaps the most famous track of the disc.
Then it goes back radio moderately round: Flea and John hit each other with "Naked in the Rain", "Apache Rose Peacock" and "The Greeting Song" as usual their riffs before "My lovely one," the very successful homage to the former guitarist and best friend Anthony Hillel Slovak sound, which in the 80s unfortunately fell victim to the drug (Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante may incidentally lucky that it has not caught).
The very broad "Sir psycho sexy", an ingenious little "radio-opera", so to speak, full of thrilling licks and funny vocal interjections, and the short-track fun "They're Red Hot" round out the album.
All in all, "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" a "profound Party Album", which served different moods and needs, but overall is a complete work of art, with which 3 superior wireless musicians from LA and her very charismatic singer who created a monument they did not restrict fortunately, but to another, albeit late masterpieces inspired.
