Clear the Z506 is not a high-end system of Canton o. Ä. For 2,000 euros comparable, but for a mere ~ 70 euros they are ideally suited to the PC for common multimedia applications. The bass has the small subwoofer already neatly printed and the satellite speakers do not rattle. In addition, the sound can be so adjusted by corresponding equalizer on PC at will. Etc. For the 5.1 surround enjoyment on the Windows Media Player the audio track must of course also be present in 5.1 - that some are still not understood today, I feel. Stereo sources can be distributed to all five speakers to simulate surround at least.
On me the speakers act processed fairly high and they feel surprisingly heavy, especially the center. This helps give me confidence again;) The cables are all long enough, especially the rear speakers with 5 meters. It also has the ability for. B. on the Realtek HD driver etc. to amplify or attenuate the satellite individually, depending on the position. One can, incidentally, also connect other audio sources.
For those who wonder at the beginning why the Media Player only stereo outputs at a BluRay or a video file (MKV, AVI, etc.) - if you have previously used 2.1 speakers, Windows you must first inform you that from now on 5.1 is used: Right-click on speaker icon in taskbar -> Playback Devices -> Select Standart Speaker -> Configuration. There make appropriate settings. In addition, the codec settings should be checked, since the filters are also often placed on Stereo.
Otherwise, the speakers work perfectly for me. The only thing that bothers me is the bass control - you have awkward reach under the desk at the back of the subwoofer to turn fast times on the controller. I mean, the place could also have the satellite speakers next to the volume.
Perhaps briefly what about my experience in general with Logitech speakers - I have 10 years a Logitech 2.1 system that still works today (!). That speaks for itself, I think.
