Qualities but also defects

I bought this bracket in version 50 cm. Certainly, it is a bit heavy and bulky, but you must know what you want. 30 cm is a little short, while 50 cm is perfect for working on wooden boards for making furniture.

Most:

- This square is decorated with many small options in the form of notches and holes that are all very good ideas that greatly facilitate the course, either straight, or draw angles. The holes placed every cm are very convenient for parallel paths. From this point of view, it is very convenient.

- It is made of a thick metal that looks very robust.

Cons:

- The plastic heel does not offer the precision of a metal bead. The error on squareness, albeit small, becomes annoying over 50 cm.

- Graduations are misplaced. They should start at 0 on the outside. Here, they are reversed and starts at 0 at the end of the arm. The inner scale, which starts at 0 at the boundary of the heel (and therefore in the middle of the lower arm of the bracket) is unusable in practice.

- Graduations are painted. They deserve to be engraved. Remember that this is a shop tools, which will inevitably suffer a bit harsh employment conditions and deteriorate with use.

In conclusion this is a product that has many qualities but also defects that place in the category of purpose tools "amateur". But at this price, you get what you pay.
