I had the Sony S5500 BPD and who was already very low. But since at the part unfortunately had problems with the WiFi, I decided for the LG. As I said Fortunately, because, the LG is again unfortunately as the Sony.
The design of the LG looks at the product photos in my opinion not so nice. Live it looks much better, almost like a carbon surface.
The device is quick and absolutely self-explanatory. WLAN is stable and strong enough in the reception. At the very beginning a software update is available. This really is however quickly and without problems (although there may be no disc inserted here)
The picture quality of BluRay is really sharp. There is absolutely no stuttering, the picture is pleasantly smooth. Differences to Sony I could not find here. Both have a perfect picture.
The 3D playback has actually inspired me at LG. As TV device I also run a LG device with passive 3D technology. Guardians of the Galaxy had to serve as a test film. The 3D effects are here thanks to the IMAX shots (no black bars above and below) truly gigantic. The pop outs will look great in. The picture quality is crisp and 3D operation sharp. No ghosting effects or other disturbing effects.
The sound is a 5.1 system very clean and in perfect synchronization. As LG feature there is the "private sound". If the player is integrated in the home network (WLAN or LAN), the sound on the LG App will pass on to the phone. So you can plug in headphones relaxing on the mobile phone and enjoy the sound alone. Works well in practice very well and without annoying interruptions.
Is in conjunction with a high-quality headphones (7.1) an amazing experience. So close you are rarely the sound in the movie. Absolutely brilliant!
The Einlesezeiten are very fast and the LG is the Sony case in every way. While the BluRay is read, the drive can be heard. Also in chapter jumps it is easy to hear. During playback, however, is absolutely nothing to hear. Seat pitch is 3 meters.
The LG actually manages to surpass the already very quiet Sony.
As a network player, the LG is also very suitable. However, Amazon Instant is not there! For but Netflix, Spotify (not connect but full Spotify).
The highlight of LG is the automatic adjustment to the footage.
The LG manages independently adjust the setting of different formats in the streaming area. Say a series which is in 60Hz will automatically play from LG in 60Hz on TV. Likewise with 50Hz. Would be no change, there would be stuttering in playback.
All apps ran at me with no problems. The speed is sufficient. Only Spotify is a bit slower when navigating, but also sufficient.
Control of the players is possible via the iPhone app. Works without problems.
