The attachment to the bike by means of cable ties. A fairly fast, but also somewhat primitive-looking design for a 500-Eur Navi. A clamp can I find more appealing and safer.
The accompanying four (one-way) cable ties are in my opinion a bit too hard and inflexible. I've found at electronics stores better cable ties. The holder itself is well made and has an additional rubber insert which is intended to prevent turning on the handlebars. The Navi is kept safe, provided one takes care that it snaps into place. The removal of the Navi turn is somewhat tricky. You have to support high turn down something and at the same time push the Navi upwards. Here you adjust the angle slightly (as I said: a clamp would be fixed).
The price is quite high for this small plastic part, but there is no alternative to an expensive Garmin accessories.
Conclusion:
++ Easy and quick to install
++ Well processed holder
- Somewhat primitive-looking design with the cable ties
- Cable ties too harsh and inflexible
- Too expensive
- No installation instructions
Just as a suggestion:
I have rebuilt a second holder for a vehicle-specific holder in the SUV, because I do not like the Navis window. The GPS sensitivity of Oregon is excellent, so even a cultivation in the lower part of the dashboard is possible.
