1. Positive:
- Hard drive looks good and is of high quality materials (brushed aluminum housing) and wobble-free plugs.
- Accessories: cable (infrared remote control, AV adapter cable (3.5mm to 3 x RCA); YUV adapter cable (3.5mm to 3 x RCA) SCART adapter (3 x RCA to SCART IN ); power supply (100 V - 240 V) capabilities are properly and provide for any multimedia use the function you need.
- The hard drive can be used in FAT32 or NTFS formatting. I personally use them to FAT32, but can so only copies files up to 4GB (So I can not comment on how quickly the drive with NTFS read / writes or how and whether it is working properly on the TV.
- The disc does not write all with a specified time (26.9 MB / sec), more slowly: about 22 MB / sec, habs tested with a 4 GB movie file.
- Super easy to use on the TV: plate was immediately recognized, and has invited the individual menus (video, pictures, music, all, your settings). With the remote control, it is super easy to go through the menus and the Back button is great to take a step back.
Little plus: The plate remembers from a playing movie / video file recent intuited time and you can start again at play, from this point. (Saves the hassle of fast forward)
- Settings can be eg. Setting the slideshow interval or the TV output (composite tubes for old televisions, HDMI 720p and HDMI 1080p for the best quality), however, the high HD resolution only uses just a little when the film is also in good quality. Also can be for example up to 16x Speed. Forward With films and videos. The pity is that the zoom is only 2x for images. (For movies up to 4-fold)
- The great advantage of maxi t.uch is compared to other multimedia hard drives, the comparatively more storage for less money offer, in the all-round package (look, feel and especially in the software: NTFS / FAT32, card slot / USB slot).
Even compared to the previous model of Trekstor, the Maxi t.uc, has the Maxi t.uch not only the above-mentioned possibility of NTFS formatting, but is also strangely about 20 cheaper.
2. Negative:
- The hard disk is actually as advertised touted very quiet, but only during normal operation, ie when it is fully charged and you watched a movie or the like... invites the plate or you open folders with a few hundred images, it rattles but unmistakable. the read / -Schreibkopf then jumps to the individual partitions back and forth and calmed down after a few seconds.
- So that the plate quickly loads the individual films, is recommended to create subfolders, so the board must invite not tens of hundreds of gigabytes at once. Otherwise it takes to load quite a bit longer.
- I also have some original copies of DVD-scales on the panel, which included German, English and French as a language file. However, I can not select the TV, the language I want to watch the movies (disc plays only standard English). So I have to be removed with a converter, the English and French on PC laboriously. But even in normal movies, I can not open any subtitles or voice menus, although the remote control for this purpose has an extra key.
- Also, the RCA cables that prop on the scart adapter are a bit too short, because I hear the movies on my Dolby Surround system and the red and white RCA are just too short.. So I need an RCA to RCA adapter and an additional RCA cables for sound, in order to enjoy the movie about my conditioning can.
CONCLUSION:
All in all super successful multimedia hard drive with super features like double formatting cards / USB slots and good workmanship.
Leaving aside the rather high price from which, is almost utopian compared to other multimedia hard drives or even normal TB drives with a memory, provides the drive for any home entertainment use adequate functions.
At some point, the board could still be user friendly, but I submit a strong buy recommendation and am so far very pleased with the Risen about 2 weeks before plate.
