All this gives "ranking cravings inevitably subjective"
Cover: humble, beautiful photos outputs of the past. Cover printed in color paper (photo on one side, very simply put into words the other page). All goes well with the tone of the album, but just average finishes. Too much paper dust, OK, it's fitting with the side "remember" but reading, it's obviously embarrassing (bring a good brush). Go 1 * 2, for icono "MY life".
Vinyl: weight decidedly too light. The copy received suffers from a defect in side A (offset tag, photo). Attention to the cell playback end!
Mixing is confusing: a warm sound emerges globally, but lack of clarity and disrupted by hazy / fuzzy acute (especially in front A; it's better B-side). It's probably a little wanted, saw about the near death, denfance shared memories, without artifice: this is his redemptive journey but not necessarily mastered. As if intent to engage unvarnished let himself be overwhelmed by emotion. As if sinterdisait principle electronic effects (and can help but the reverb and celestial choirs).
Definitively conquered by the melodies of Sufjan Stevens, but a little disappointed with the mix (he mentions credits recordings on iPhone, it was only for models huh?). 0.5 * 2.
Digital version: download code supplied provides versions mp3 (44.1kHz and 320 kbit / s), nice bonuses, .pdf booklet with a few words on photos.1 * 1 *
In the end, a very personal sensitive work, which memporte with it. An album with pleasure that I add to my collection!
Too bad yet for this vinyl release, the quality of the carrier is a bit lacking. Not enough to sulk our pleasure, but this strange feeling i dinachevé and maybe it's the real magic of this work: Sufjan reveals its intimacy, current flows with the strength of his emotions.
