Now kruzerhand needed a new and since I was already a fan of the Samsung Wave I and dessem chic aluminum housing I looked at the A-series closer to. The demands on my phone were rather average. A little music, a little Whatsapp, now and then a game on the train ride home, Internet on the go or vll. Even navigate times, nothing special.
Since I use my cell phone no longer so excessive use as before, I see no point in spending 600 + for a mobile device.
Apart from hardware today's mobile phones more than sufficient, the "middle class" for all aspects.
For the A5, I have decided for the aluminum bodys me and because the hardware does not (significantly) is worse than that of my old S3. You do not want to deteriorate yes.
We come to the phone:
- Design -
The A5 comes in a very chic aluminum housing and is processed perfectly. No gaps, no creaks. Workmanship on iPhone level. The edges are not as round as about the S3 / S4, but go more in the direction S2. The phone is very slim, which I find enjoyable. What is a pity is that protrudes the camera on the rear panel. But that is only a matter of habit.
- Delivery -
When cell phone case is the Netzadapert, a USB cable, and the (now) typical white Samsung Headset. The headset has a decent sound, sits well in the ear, ear brings various essays with and let the remote control to answer calls and control music. Not only the music of the Samsung app, but also music streaming services can be controlled operation with the headset. (Tested with Deezer). In addition, the packaging is still a voucher for one year free subscription to the digital world, Auto Bild and Bild Plus.
- Performance -
The mobile phone runs very smoothly and provides everyday no grounds for criticism. So far, all standard programs without problems went to use.
Only when I start an elaborate game and let run parallel music, sets the music time for the fraction of a second from what but also can leigen the game. Despite the middle-class processor from Qualcomm, the mobile phone works fast. Wireless and data networks are found immediately and the GPS localization is very fast. With the built-in 2GB memory you have to not be afraid to get into performance problems.
The built-in camera 13MP makes very good pictures in good lighting conditions and for all Selfie fans there at the front, a 5MP camera. This even dissolves by itself when you "Say Cheese" says. Otherwise, the camera has the usual settings and photo filters which are also known by the upper class mobile phones.
The display with HD resolution is perfectly adequate and more appropriate for the size. Even with texts, I could see no "ausgefranzte Scripture", who as so found some reviews sobering.
A nice new feature is that Samsung has purifies the house TouchWiz interface. There are far fewer annoying preinstalled apps available and the ones that are still there, can be easily uninstall. Really great!
- Endurance -
The battery lasts in my opinion, through well. With me he packs a full charge about 2 full days with a mixture of 60 minutes listening to music, 30 minutes Whatsapp, surf the Internet and play 30-60 min 40 min. If your use is more pronounced, then the battery is probably rather go running out, but even with intensive use even 30% battery should be left at the end of the day. Where my GPS turned off permanently and my Play This brightness is set to Auto. A big minus of the A5 is that the battery is not replaceable. The casing is cemented and only provides slots for SIM card and micro SD card. Attention! For the A5 you need a Nano SIM card, as with the current iPhones! So again a level lower than the known micro Sim card.
- Conclusion -
With the A5 Samsung has delivered a great device in the middle class and, where the old design line with plastic once a new note.
Performance side, it is equipped for all daily tasks. I give this a strong buy recommendation, if your claims do not expect a high-end cars à la S6. Who still like something "more" would have, should view the A7 precisely at ease. This has better hardware, but is also again a whole corner is greater.
A star I draw from the A5, because the price of the installed hardware still seems a bit too high. Comparable phones (albeit with plastic housing) such as the P7 Huawei, already exist for less than 200. It is also the point of non-replaceable batteries one who does not fit me and I have to get used yet only. Nevertheless, these are just small dots in an otherwise very good phone for me.
Pro:
- Aluminium housing
- Good hardware - Liquid System
- Good battery
- Entschlackte Touch Wiz interface
Cons:
- Slightly high price compared to the competition (at the time of review 340)
- Battery not replaceable
