1. Configuration DECT base in the Fritz box: turn off encryption
2. Configuration cordless phone in the Fritz box: New Device login - search bar runs
3. Repeater switch (plug), the left LED flashes quickly after a short time - base has been found
4. Select a handset 2 #
5. After a short time the left LED flashes permanently repeater is logged
Without disabling the encryption is not possible to register the repeater. The DECT button on the Fritz box had not pressed. Contrary to a description of AVM ([...]), the handset must not be deleted in the Fritz box. But this guide is actually for a different Fritzbox. The back button on the repeater is used only for a reset (when logging on to a different base). To this end it has to be pressed for 10 s.
Now everything is wonderful. The range will be extended and internal calls also fold. Finally my wife can call in the garden sitting. On FritzFon one must, however, turn off encryption, otherwise the connection is lost after a short time. Conveniently, it is pointed out by FritzFon. At my Fritz box hangs a FritzFon, 2 and 3 Gigasets old Medion handsets. The repeater can also be implemented. The base is virtually found immediately.
Caution: In the Internet Services on FritzFon must forego in repeater mode!
Now for the BUT:
The expensive Gigaset repeater was so angeschaft because he supports encrypted connections.
After you turn the encryption in the Fritz box permanently (no connection to the base) the right LED of the repeater lights. Switching on and off of the repeater without success. One might think, with unencrypted operation it would again. So it is indeed. Only disable encryption in the Fritz box again and turn the repeater to the power plug and switch on again. The left constantly lit LED signals the repeater mode.
There may be another registration procedure with encryption ?!
How many stars should I now forgiven? Is the Fritz box, the repeater or the man in the middle to blame for the problem with the encryption? With high probability the stupid users. And assumes a Gigaset base everything would be ok. Then he must give 5 stars.
A different question is: keep it or not? Since the Fritz repeater is probably not useful, I keep the part and renounce encryption (whatever I order einhandle I survey fortunately not ...). And: There is ... wow ... 20 back.
Conclusion: FritzBox and Gigaset repeater prove themselves in which a strong team, who can live without encryption.
