Most:
- Easy installation (many investment accessories supplied). A little more complicated if you want to set all measures (wheel spokes etc.) but very accessible, and we do it anyway once.
- Effective monitoring GPS, perfect for exploring new paths (or do not get lost if you are dropped into a cyclo or if you are too forward;) may occasionally lose the GPS connection in the woods, under trees or in tunnels, but that is suitable for any GPS. You can load its own Openrunner or other standard courses.
- Resistant to climate: rain, mud. Good sunlight readability, or in conditions of low light (backlit screen). The touchscreen works very well, even with quite thick gloves.
- Bluetooths martphone connection (iPhone 4s, 5s and 6 here). Great to share real-time position (with friends to tease on performance, with the family to reassure on the return). Automatic upload my private cloud to archive tracking, very detailed.
Cons:
- When you're used to retina displays and colors, it seems to leap in the past: large pixels, limited colors, prehistoric navigation. it looks like an old telephone 2000s (I exaggerate only). But it is very readable, in all weather, head to the grindstone. The new version (1000?) Is pretty standard screen, but more to see.
- Very good battery life measured: 16 to about 18h. We tell ourselves that it's still short for huge cyclo / audax, but enough is enough most of the time and it recharges very quickly.
Finally, an essential companion for my regular outings, reliable and big constraints.
