Previously, I always thought: rice cooker? What for ??

Now I know - these parts can be incredibly handy and useful!

You just want to rice as a side dish, it simmers in the rice cooker all by itself in front of him and you on the stove a plate for the remaining dishes free and time because you simply fills only rice and water, and must not think of anything more after switching on. The rice cooker automatically switches to "keep warm function" when the rice is ready.

It is best to experiment a bit. I personally liked the rice from best when per cup of rice to add a half cup of water. Who likes him grained, less water is about who wants it soft, just more water is to it. Salt is better added after cooking (sparingly). All other spices also.

Especially I am excited by the possibility of varying the rice according to whim. Whether with vegetables and tomato paste (Djuvec rice) or vegetables (vegetable rice), whether with meat (which is seared in the rice cooker first before rice and water to come) or whatever - the preparation is easy and fun.

Included is a steamer so that the rice cooker can also be used as a steamer for vegetables or fish. In addition, a measuring cup (rice and water) and a spoon while (to stir the rice).

It is important to know that the rice when it is cooked with little fluid attaches to the pot bottom. This is normal and it is even tasty! So stir either before the rice appends, or not stir and enjoy this rice layer.

The insert can be easily lifted out of the kettle to serve (Caution, hot! A refractory coaster is absolutely necessary) and clean. The cleaning is very simple: only with water and a little detergent. This is much faster than normal saucepan. Please note: all parts are to be rinsed by hand only, thus are not dishwasher safe.

The user manual will astonish most consumers: it is kept rather vague. After a bit of experimentation that is not surprising, because rice is not the same rice and tastes differ. One must grope easily. Even the use of a different rice brand changed the cooking result, as different varieties of rice. You have to individually find out what is the best person for a result and how to reach it. The short version is flat: Rice may, but need not be pre-washed. Rice into the pot, add water (amount again individually variable) to give when salt, then only very sparingly (but better just after the cooking process, as well as all other spices).

The only reason to downgrade I would hope that the stove emits a beep when it switches to keep warm, and another when the recommended 10-minute rest period is over (the one but can do without, the rice tastes even without " auszudampfen ").

Conclusion: never cook rice in the saucepan again! The rice cooker saves time and hearth area, facilitates the work and creates first-class rice!
