Roots-rock goes "wild"

Into the Wild (Audio CD)

Customer Review

This band can not be killed. The secret: honesty, perseverance, enthusiasm, earthiness, global countless concerts and love to the fans. These are mostly older semester, but also increasingly younger "Rocker". In keeping with the sound of this new CD. I call it "modern old-school rock".

Uriah Heep have presented with "Into The Wild" a great work of succession "Wake The Sleeper" and are their "new / old" line with orientation as a "roots-rock" remained faithful. What is the music loomed in 2008 on "Wake The Sleeper", is pursued consistently. It is even more clear "Heep-typical" rocked my feeling and yet also wonderful melodies are built.

So is "I Can See You" highlighted as a fast rock 'n' roll oriented rock in the style of the old songs like "So Tired". Class made with fun. A beautiful straight driving rock song with a lot of energy. Ever sounds the sound on "Into The Wild" right-to-date, although old Uriah Heep-virtues are by no means neglected. Bass and drum - work are top notch. In many places Trover Bolder shines with beautiful bass lines. That's the first impression ...

The opener "Nail On The Head" is a groovy rhythmic power rock song. The almost in "party-rock style" then stomping song has like all the others on the roaring classic Heep organ. Nevertheless, for me not even the best song on the whole CD that offers a lot of variety. A progressive rock ballad (Trail Of Diamonds) with calm mystical sounding early and typical epic rise and a classic hymn (Kiss Of Freedom) round off the rock song-dance.
Two beautiful long (about ...) 6 minute songs.

The title song "Into The Wild" and "I'm Ready" are full of straightforward power. "I'm Ready" has something rhythmically of Tears Of The World, and even, I think, of Look At Yourself. Musically it rocks well and you have to not refer to old Heep songs, there are heard in many places unique Heep elements as you like them, and yet the songs sound contemporary.

For example, "Lost": At least as crisp as "War Child" on Wake The Sleeper. Sings his Trevor Bolder. Something else. The "Southern Star" shines again with worn rhythm and extremely exciting music history and beautiful Ah-Ah-chorus-chorus. Similarly flatters the "T-Bird Angel" almost melodic pop their ears. However, other songs like "Believe" generally have catchy choruses; coupled with a very nice almost classical melodic sounding organ accompaniment. "Money Talks" again overgrown with Deep Purple sound and AC DC - Stadium refrain. Boredom never comes on; at no time. This album is sort of a "panacea" that makes it all right.

If rock music sounds so fresh, then she deserves to be heard and perceived by younger fans. On the new album Uriah Heep serve both the supporters of progressive classic rock and alike music lovers who are on more modern. The band deal with this dilemma surprisingly cool.

Melodic, metallic Kracher, organ passages like Deep Purple, fiery guitar solos, as well as modern-sounding melody oriented guitar accompaniment, Heep choirs, even "AC DC - Feeling" (Money Talks) and "stadium rock" (Nail On The Head). The bird shoot Uriah Heep but clearly with "Kiss Of Freedom" from. Simply divine this hymn. Super organ of Phil Lanzon.
More please! It seems here to pave something great.

Maybe even a masterpiece, which perhaps comes at the wrong time?
No, wrong only because "Into The Wild" would certainly become commercially successful with these great new songs in the '70s.
For the fans, it of course does not come at the wrong time. After all is always the right time for a new Heep album!

And just like on "WTS" or on "Celebration" is rocked with only classical instruments: organ, guitar, bass and drums. No frills with a clear focus on the roots of the band. Nice meaty, with rough edges. Nevertheless, with groove and melody of a piece. Power crazy fun, this CD! Perhaps "Into The Wild" even one of the best CD's of Uriah Heep is total. This is pure power rock in the spirit of "Sweet Freedom" or "Look At Yourself". Not only the cover radiates pure "Heep Feeling" from. Sound and Mixtechnisch the album also on the safe side and absolutely contemporary.

The sound is like Live over: efficient, dry, punchy, not contrived ...

Again, did Mike Paxman (produced including status quo) all the work. Good production! Albums with such entertaining interesting rock music, there should be more often.
"Into The Wild" is musically so well that it has actually loosely deserves a place in the charts.

The trend, of course, more perfect for the fans of classic rock sounds. Mick Box announced it so: "11 brand new songs, Including some epic additions to the band's huge catalog of rock classics".
He has complied with it ...

Consistent beautiful grandiose rocking hard rock album with lots of variety and melodies.

Fits spring ...

This music is much closer to old Heep-works, as some think. And by the way, it is an album of Deep Purple fans. Really good...
Trevor makes his bass, Phil swirls so only at the organ. A round work!

The flowers grow and the rock awakes to new life ...

Let's go wild!

A greeting to all music fans.
And Heep fans!
