First of all: I have the Nikon P 310 and the Nikon S8200. To say the same: Both both make equally good photos and play in the same class. No benefit of sogg. Edel-compact P 310 over the 8200, at least no one who catches the eye. I have found in many photo and laborious tests comparing images. Who wants to play it safe, who buys the S8200 and has thus certainly one of the best digital cameras (if not the best!) In this price range (now below 150 euros with Amazon Warehouse). For P 310 have to pay 100 euros more. The image quality of the S8200 is pretty much at the level of P310, in some situations, the P310 is a little better, in others the S8200 is better. This fully automatic settings without annoying having to make and is super fine-tuned for Point-and-Shoot-clippers. For example, the reproduction of colors. I have made some test photos in the Trier Cathedral. The S8200 has always played the original color of Dominneren correct and impressive. The P 310 was against it a bit too cool. That I was really surprised. Einstellversuche of P 310 have shown no change, because you can, if I have understood correctly, the color channels regulate not separated at Nikon, so as to admit more red, etc. Experimenting with the white balance in the P 310 the correct color effect can not be produced. Perhaps discovered one of the professionals here there's what.
But what then blew me away was how closely the images of the two cameras at 100% magnification in terms of quality are together. There's a hint of seeing a difference Tick ... by no means a performance class in screen but absolutely undetectable. And who already looks pictures on a regular basis at 100%. Well, I do that if I buy a new camera to me to form an idea of what resolution a camera really has it. I am Schärfefan and like good detail resolution. And since the S8200 and the P 310 are absolutely equivalent. Sometimes because the P310 is a bit better, but sometimes the S8200. I had expected just detail and resolution would the P 310 show as precious compacts the S8200 in the area, where it's at. Far from it. As I said, both cameras play absolutely in this regard in the same class. I have saved all test photos on my PC and can thus certainly underpin probative value, which is expressed in the review from me if someone makes the matter will go to the bottom.
Noise do both cameras within the normal range. So do not expect miracles. But the images are to ISO 400 ok and will meet the expectations of most buyers.
The S8200 is thus not without reason so highly rated here. Because it is a problem-camera with excellent picture quality at the level of P310. For P 310 speaks their low-light capability because of 1.8er-aperture of the lens. This light intensity is achieved but only in wide angle. Zooms to something in the picture, it is soon over with the advantage of the open aperture. While the P310 in the evening in rooms maps nor good natural colors without flash, already evident since the S8200 a strong reddish tinge. In addition to the P 310 make the best music videos, but that does not flow with in this review. Wide both have about the same, so is not a deciding factor. Who wants to zoom, however, the accesses to the S8200. Since I have both cameras, I can take the appropriate camera for the shooting conditions. The flash provides you with the 8200 permanently on, because this otherwise disturbing stays outside and can be closed only by turning the camera again. Here one wonders, what have been thinking, the development engineers. I had to choose one of the cameras, I would take the S8200, which is down to the poorer low-light capabilities of the better all-rounder with an excellent photo quality. The cameras use the same sensor.
Both, incidentally, make excellent, tack-sharp portraits where you can see every single stubble. Macros are also absolutely convincing in both digicams.
Close succeed in often overwhelming sharpness. More distant motifs are no longer so well resolved. Already in the middle of the image (eg wheat field) so slowly turns everything in Pixelbrei, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the light and ISOzahl. This has, I believe, found even another reviewer. In screen but the phenomenon is not noticeable. We are here precisely nothing to do with SLR. You have to know. Who SLR quality is also only approximate expected to be bitterly disappointed.
Both cameras are compact cameras, even particularly good. But a quantum leap over other good compact should and should not be expected. By purchasing one of these cameras above anyone but make no means a purchase, you afterward regretted, because there is in my opinion nothing better in this class and this price range currently. That is why I well deserved 4 stars and honest. If the image quality a notch above other good competition compacts I would have given 5 stars.
I hope this is helpful Renz Sion.
