Main problem with iRobot Roomba 581:
- He had a little trouble with small / light carpets lying on the floor (approx 70x150cm in size). They were * despite * Anti-slip mat shifted (or edges bent) until the iRobot had sometimes almost imprisoned behind (or many attempts needed until he bent back the bent edge back).
- He Oriental carpet long from 8-10cm carpet fringe from the brush and partly paper-thin pieces / fibers (1-2cm) "snatched".
Main problem with Samsung SR8855:
- This had carpet fringes or rugs very big problems with small / light (70x150cm):
The mechanism is so coarse that it hover a two-fringe (8-10cm long) at every 5th time equal completely (!) Has pulled out, the Oriental rug, as well as in the small / light Fleckerl carpets.
- In addition (or edges bent) were the carpets similar to iRobot * moved * despite anti-slip mat. In that case, it was more problematic, because sometimes when the edges were bent (a few cm high arch), he has completely locked up behind, because the optical sensor has the then registered as an insurmountable obstacle. One would have light carpets completely from severe rubber anti-slip mat laid-staple (but which I did not definitely, because then you can not just wash, etc ...)
- When he drove from the floor on the carpet edge / fringe on the carpet, he is stuck completely approximately every 5th-10.Mal and had to be freed manually (this is the iRobot does not happen)!
2) Positive points: (Conclusion of my personal comparisons)
- When iRobot better: Unique mechanics: At least he's never stuck in the fringe / edge at the carpets, has always freed himself (possibly because the iRobot rotate 2 brushes, one of which is made of soft rubber ...?) and was not nearly as "coarse" carpet fringe in as the Navibot.
- When Samsung Navibot better: The electronics: That he can orient himself in the rooms and even after charging again can go on to the last point and therefore no stupid (unsightly) Lighthouses needed in the doors -> it worked very well and in my opinion was the absolute "killer feature" against the iRobot (for a 100sqm apartment with many rooms).
