Satisfactory but could do better

A few weeks ago now that I use the Aston Diva HD Premium. Overall, I am satisfied: the installation is extremely simple (automatic) and the user interface is fairly clear. Ignition takes a little time, I would say + - 20 seconds: it is ok but I think it should be able to improve in the future.

Positive
- Several simultaneous recordings ... provided that (if I am not mistaken) the frequencies are the same: I tested, it is possible for example to record a channel in HD (eg M6HD) and watch something else BUT the list of available channels will be limited (in this case with other HD channels, ie TF1HD, FR2HD, etc.); this possibility still remains a strong argument when choosing this device.
- Graphical interface very clear and quite neat.
- Image quality (but I could not compare with other demodulators).

Negative
- For the record function, it does not seem possible (except by using the "guide" function) to record a program and define a margin (ex .: + 5 minutes before and after the program): If you directly launch the Registration (without using the guide) you can set the duration in increments of 30 minutes, otherwise you have to go through the guide;
- The guide does not always have the information on the programs (that is why the previous point is negative): instead of indicating the program title, start time and end it says "information not available" ( I do not know what it is due, the demo remains all the time in "stand by").
- The plastic is black and shiny, a disaster for the dust;
- The only one way to connect a hard drive is via a USB jack, suddenly every ignition demodulator must initialize it (it's a bit annoying but not disastrous for the cause);
- The remote is not backlit (although it is easy to use).

In summary I would say that this is a good product and that has certain qualities considering the price at which it is proposed (especially on amazon!). That said, and although I am generally satisfied, I admit I was somewhat disappointed by some features, mainly those related recording (and partly because the information presented through the "guide" function are often missing ). At a time when I speak (23/05/2012) it remains for me one of the best choices in absolute and in this price range, the optimal choice.
