Schubert fabulous cabinet of the great Austrian master

That heavy, exceptional recordings! Schubert found an outstanding performer in Brendel, of course there are not exclusive, since Radu Lupu on one side, the other Dalberto also made recordings with breathtaking artistry, however Brendel is champion impromptu and especially the D840 reliquie. It is a dark and scary vision, wonderfully internalized. Brendel never done in bright, everything is calculated if at least felt. One regret the D959 is better in the version that the pianist gave in 1971, slower and darker still, damage. However the Wanderer is diabolical! (All records of this case date back to the years 80-90)

Finally Brendel is the most homogeneous pianist in his romantic vision, whether in its splendid interpretation of Beethoven's sonatas in this selection of works by Schubert, the shy scholar who will finally composed works of a comparable level. Capturing the 80th birthday of Sir Brendel, this box is a blessing (plus cheap!)

Ps: do not forget the small Hungarian piece 3minutes 24 intense pleasure has never been so well played!
