My old Sennheiser HD30TV broke down after years of use. Well I bought the Philips because of the positive reviews. From the sound is absolutely no difference noted. But he is primarily intended for the TV. The Sennheiser (successor HD35TV) is more than twice as expensive but has 2 very decisive advantages: 1. You can adjust both sides by volume differently. Which is great when you hear weaker in one ear. 2. a headset for the TV you will indeed carry on for hours. I put the Philips about Sennheiser, then the ears of the Philips within the shells of Sennheiser and touch not even - ie: the Philips is much narrower, is so much more on the ears and does therefore faster hurt. After 2 hours, my ears hurt when Philips while even after 2 hours I feel the Sennheiser as very pleasant. I probably saved at the wrong end.
