This small but nice shotgun enhances the sound of any camcorder to the multiples. Due to the good thanks to the decoupling rubber suspension, the operating noise of the camcorder are effectively weakened, fan and zoom noise is only noticeable at the edge.
The directivity is phenomenal, even coughing noises behind the Sennheiser, who had drowned all other sounds in a stereo micro sound, muffled and seem quieter. Side noises are likely to backdrop, so that the viewer's attention in a film, which was shot using this microphone, is directed exclusively to the object in front of the lens.
The microphone is clean worked (Made in Germany), looks stable from (only flaw perhaps the rubber suspension) and does the job brilliantly.
The cable is just the right length, so it is also suitable for larger camcorders. By coiling the cable is not dangling into the picture, and thus does not collide with the camcorder casing. The cable management is thus solved optimally.
The sensitivity adjustment is a clever idea, with it you can record both faintest sounds of nature as well as language in the noisy big city or in a factory hall. The selectable Wind filter is usable, but I would advise anyone who wants to buy this directional microphone, in addition to the windshield MZW 400, which works perfectly and is much better than just a digital filter for audio recording. With very strong winds one can use windshield and wind filter, other deep tones are thus but also added more quietly.
For life I can not say anything (300 hours is to keep the supplied battery). Before recording, you MUST turn on the microphone (which is not automatically when the camcorder). I had wondered at the first shots, why no sound came. After recording one must also not forget the microphone off again, otherwise the battery is empty after a good week.
The micro absorbs sounds that you yourself might not be perceived during filming. The recording sounds just as good as the original, even the finest nuances of sound from the front are later heard in the film.
Despite its "length" it sticks even with my camcorder with wide angle with fur windshield not the picture. If necessary you can even still 400 underline the foremost "hair" of the windshield MZW smooth.
Conclusion:
A top shotgun microphone that fits with its compact dimensions and smaller camcorder without bringing this completely out of balance. Its directivity is compared with other directional mics in this price range fantastic, the value for money super.
Who buys this micro but should to buy the windscreen so that professional recordings can succeed with the camcorder even on windy days.
