It feels good to work with the knife. The handle has, I think, a perfect shape and thus facilitates cutting. In addition, the knife looks with the matching blade, which is in the picture displayed on the cutting edge of about 1cm black, very elegant.
The blade is black on one side. The other side is the rest of the blade "iron color". This is also the principle of the blade, to the beaver tooth. A hard and a soft side, which as "wear out" should be that the blade always maintains the same sharpness. Grinding must be so that the knife no longer, as otherwise the blade breaks. This one is so reliant on one, is the blade as it is sharp enough.
From experience I can say the following:
- The known test with one side paper works perfectly and the blade rushes effortlessly through
- On several sides, about 8, it also cuts clean yet, but you now need a little more power when pulling
- I have not yet having cut as much but bread and tomatoes go well with the knife! In apples and carrots, I would have expected more. You notice here that it is no longer so beautiful slides, but something "splits".
The delivery there was a description of the knife, ie by what principle it was prepared and how to keep it and clean it.
The knife itself is in a rather large, black Pappschachte which looks pretty good too. There, the blade is embedded in foam. For use in the kitchen but the box is not suitable. A knife block would be best here.
The price is very high with 350 mE. Whether this is justified, everyone must decide for themselves. The materials used are awarded Sichherheit. JMD. Does not like sharpening knife also an interesting point, but nothing new, only the technology which is based here. It is a new patent.
Conclusion:
As blades are honed and sharpened quickly and this for me is not a problem to do it yourself, this knife would be too expensive for me and bring no such advantage would not be satisfied with other diameters also.
Sure, the design (limited edition) and the ergonomics are great, but at the price only advantageous if you want to present the knife in the kitchen and wants to see any scratches in the blade. It is also a piece of intuition in the kitchen and does not disappear in the drawer.
