Two and a half years I had a Navigon Navi and was very happy with it until it has unfortunately but now and then abandoned me. So I needed a new Navi, which is easy to use and clearly laid out. This Navi Garmin offers itself as one of the Essential models that sounds simple and easy for me. Thus, it is then also. The Navi comes with a data cable, the holder and the cable to the cigarette lighter plug. There is also a Quick Installation Guide and the mandatory safety instructions. The Navi itself is very elegant. In the 6-inch version also a good size. The installation is really easy. The holder has to be built of 2 parts but is not a problem. The suction cup keeps immediately on the disk (not a given). Cable between Navi and outlet and even the Navi in the holder. All this can be done without instructions. When you switch on for me strange the button on the left instead of the right, but not a problem. Now the same is not quite as noble solved: a configuration menu so weak contrasts, so I have not even seen it in sunshine in the car. One chooses his country accepts any Softwarbedingungen and confirmed that the thing does not serve na klar while driving yet. The following screen is then but nice and bright and clearly visible. I have the clear choice between target input and card. With card I get the first glimpse of how the navigation will look like later. New for me the own location is indicated by a small car. This is quite nice and you can even change into other symbols. The satellite will be found relatively quickly. The map is clear. Links below the tempo is displayed at the bottom right of the compass. About a menu on the right you can quickly access targets in the vicinity, such as gas station or toilet. So far so good the first surprise: when exceeding the speed you will not warn you with voice but on beep. A bit inconvenient in it for me: one is warned immediately and not only after exceeding a certain tolerance. My Navigon had as a tolerance, so that it has, for example, warned too fast only at 10 km / h. Perhaps you can also change here but so far only the point found on which one can turn off completely the warning. Also nice with this Navi traffic information and radar detector. About destination entry you can then quickly enter addresses or find POIs. This is very simple so that the manual is really unnecessary. New for me is that you can here a large search box has in which you can enter any term and he finds results in all areas. This is very handy. The navigation itself controls a with a friendly voice that you can even change. So far, the Navi has always chosen fairly decent routes also fine. Plus, there's a point where you will find apps such as ecoRoute, directions, Where was I stuff? Etc. Sounds interesting, but am not sure if that really need a user like me. Will I just watch on occasion times. But until then I use my great new Navi as always. Also nice: the battery lasts a long time. My old was out after a few minutes. I have also directly used my lifelong free map updates. For this you close the device to a PC connected to the Internet and downloads a software. This has directly found for me two software and map updates. Here, my program has an installation period of more than three hours actually displayed. They were then but fortunately just 20 hours ago. Also without any problems. All in all an absolute recommendation for anyone who needs his navigation system to navigate and as radar and jam Warner.
