I have this SSD installed in a notebook as a system disk, in addition to the existing hard drive. The SSD is easily recognized as a hard disk. As for the speed, in practice, this SSD a normal 2,5'-SSD in there is nothing after. Windows 7 boots up very quickly (faster than on my desktop), programs are almost immediately open - absolutely satisfactory for me. The SSD also seems to be very energy efficient. In practice, I meet the manufacturer's specifications for the battery life of notebooks often significantly - a sign that the SSD compared to the normal hard drive saves a lot of electricity.
A note for installation: There are two screws supplied for the installation, which, however, did not fit in my notebook into the provided socket. Used 2.5mm screws were provided but were 2.3 mm screws (or 2.4?). What it corresponds to the standard I do not know, but who buys such a SSD for installation in a notebook that perhaps should have in mind.
