this review is to provide an overview of the Skyrim Collector's Edition.
I got the Skyrim Collector's Edition for Christmas 2011.
First stands a large package in the eye. The outer carton is printed with an artwork from Skyrim. In the box you will find an artwork book, a map of Skyrim, a thin user manual, a CD with a few songs of the soundtrack, a 30 cm high statue of the dragon Alduin and of course the game shell with included game and a Making of DVD.
We come first to artwork book. It is bound in black leatherette and the Skyrimsymbol adorns the front. The 200 pages are in color and with a lot of great artworks, of characters, monsters, equipment, weapons and landscapes from Skyrim. From the quality of this book is to be classified as excellent.
The map of Skyrim is printed on a paper that will probably act like parchment. The quality could be much better here.
The 30 cm high statue of Alduin the World Eater is of a high quality plastic and is well made. Which unfortunately can not be said of the plastic rock which is intended as a base for the dragon. This seems cheap in comparison and has little details. Nevertheless, the dragon statue is a real eye-catcher, assuming you can find a suitable place for the great Statute.
To Soundtrack CD one must unfortunately say that it is only to a few selected songs from the right soundtrack. Although these songs are really good, so the Collector's Edition might have quietly tolerated the complete soundtrack.
Let's talk about Making of DVD. This is well worth seeing and shows a glimpse behind the scenes. However, it is advisable to consider it only if you have played the game for a while, to be nothing to anticipate.
Which brings me to the next point, the game itself. Because I want to give away any game content in order not to spoil, I'll just briefly describe how I liked the game. For me Skyrim had been worth the money, it has captivated me more than 100 hours on the PC. The free-roaming world, the interesting quests and exciting fights have given me a lot of fun. Also, the replay value is high to skillen his character differently, or to make other decisions.
My conclusion, the game is great and I am mostly satisfied with the contents of the Collector's Edition. However, in retrospect, I think the price of the additional material of Collecor's Edition for a bit too high.
