Purchased just before Christmas for my 14 year old daughter, returned just after Christmas ... indeed the CD player did not stop to open a few centimeters and then to close immediately when the chain was on. Unable to put a CD.
Other features - radio, iPod dock and USB - seemed to work properly. I was still a bit disappointed by the fragility of the iPod dock and the lack of weight of the speakers and the central part ... I thought the chain more "beefy".
By cons, hat SAV Amazon - fresh back supported and refund within 48 hours.
