The DSC-WX100B is ready for use after about 1.5 seconds after you press the power button and you can immediately shoot the first pictures (if it is the Erstgebraucht the camera, nor have settings for location, time, etc. made). But here a first obstacle has been hidden. The power button is recessed into the housing of the DSC WX100B. Although the 2.7-inch display fills almost the entire back of the camera and all the important elements and information about battery level, megapixel setting, flash status, remaining memory, scene mode, and strangely enough storage folder (redundant ?!) are sufficiently large. But the display shows both the current scene in front of the lens, as well as already captured photos very color unreal again. Looking at the photographs, for example on the PC or the TV on and compares it to the camera screen you can see a big difference.
The quality of the images does not diminish but which in the least. It may be just that one later not one hundred percent provides the expected result on the PC or TV.
Shooting modes:
This can be changed very easily by means of a wheel, which also serves as a directional pad for menu selections. Very convenient. The default mode is here 'Smart Auto'. This means that scenes automatically detected and the scene mode is automatically adjusted accordingly. However, the automatic then seems not to be so intelligent that they can distinguish a backlit scene of a candlelit scene and thus often emerges an image with strong sunlight in a sensual red-orange. Nevertheless, this mode is the easiest way to quickly take a photo.
Significantly better than the 'Intelligent Automatik' mode would (at least in theory) the' be Superior Automatik' mode, which promises a sharp image with noise and blur reduction. Except that he takes about three times longer to take a picture, here no real differences to the 'Intelligent Automatik' mode but are felt. The images are not necessarily better.
In addition to a scene in leaves' Scene Mode 'also independently choose and the' Programmautomatik' mode can all kinds of advanced settings such as ISO, white balance, etc. are carried out manually.
Even for tricky gimmicks like filter effects there are the appropriate mode. It is very nice that here also a HDR effect can be selected. Although the HDR-images are not professional, but it's still nice. Also can create a black and white image directly when taking pictures using a different filter in which only one color is not removed (for example, red). Looks very good.
Here surprised me positively, that even 3D still pictures can be created, to be reproduced on corresponding monitors even as such. Of course, the camera itself has no 3D display. The image quality of all photos is neat and to use also for further processing. Unfortunately delivers the highest resolution of 18 megapixels (4896 x 3672) No 16: 9 aspect ratio, but only 4: 3. If you want in 16: 9, you have to 5 megapixels and waive a portion of the screen. The 13 megapixel images (4896 x 2752) are actually in 16: 9 format, but unfortunately the screen does not fully utilize, since these provide only a 4: 3 display pretending.

The micro camera delivers extremely good sound when shooting video. This really surprised me. I could take and afterwards understand everything, even though I was standing about 15 meters from the speakers, a concert with them.
