Assessment:
The set includes 25 droppers, 10 meters of hose, a water pump with connection for hoses 3, the control unit, and 15 mounting skewers.
Overall, everything makes a solid and thoughtful impression. One need but if you use a maximum of the hose and has a lot of plants, extra dropper (I had to buy more still 10 pieces, with the interruption of the transition to the hardware store is annoying when you are in building).
The controller has 14 programs in which you can adjust, however, always only from 3 up to 8 minutes drip time. So there is no continuous operation range, which would be important for connection to a timer for example. Therefore, one has several programs with different long interval Tropzeiten example, you can set that every 4 hours is dropped for 6 minutes or every 2 days for 8 minutes. It is amazing what the comparatively small pump makes and how quickly the water even at 9 meters from the end of the threaded hose still arrives.
Benefits:
+ The drippers provide relatively continuously and evenly water into the flower boxes and flower pots from.
+ Over a long Srecke the water is well managed at the individual drippers, ie it does not come with the drip heads at the beginning of the line more out than at the end.
+ The plants are well watered, despite the first tiny amount of water acting. For example, I first selected the every 4 hours for 6 minutes program, but this has led to a day-to waterlogging and too much standing water in the coasters, so you have to try the amount and time.
+ One is freed from a water pipe and the associated idea of possibly bursting pipes or leaky valves with impending flood apartment.
Disadvantages:
- Unfortunately, there is no calculation table on how determined the water demand ie optimal number of drippers one per meter planter or flower pot diameter used and for how long and often you should water. This must only be tried for a few days, so build nothing with the day before the holiday only. I had first tried to convert the Giesskannenmengen from last year, but the droppers provide the optimal water (I find no better description) and thus you need less water deutlichh apparently - I have to check but still. This also makes the planning of appropriate water container difficult (I currently use a kiddie pool, think but it's actually too big).
- The control unit is not weatherproof, what you should expect from a recommended for use outdoors equipment. I have therefore put the device in the home on the window sill and from there the cable to the pump through the window, which is just as if you have some play between window and frame, because the pump cable is very flat. But of course not an ideal solution.
- The controller has no setting for continuous irrigation (ON setting). This would make sense, because then you could watering every day individually controlled by a wireless socket, which can be selectively switched on and off via smartphone. Then you could look at the holiday on the internet, as the weather is at home and in the rain is not irrigated and over high heat you can just turn the pump individually and pour more. This saves water and space for the water tank, which still needs to be large to go suspicion. Such rigid preset programs are now really no longer appropriate, especially as the soil moisture meter offered as a supplement according to the reviews is not working properly.
- What's really annoying that every time you change the program, will be immediately watered again. If you want to eg change the interval every 4 hours for 6 minutes on the program every 8 hours for 3 minutes, the unit must be set only to 0 and then to the next level. Unfortunately, it starts immediately with watering on for 3 minutes, even though the soil is already or still wet.
However, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages abundantly clear: The latter are described in detail here, therefore, to make it clear that the construction and connection is very easy, but trying out the correct irrigation takes much time to complete.
