Looking for a new and qualitative compact camera, but did not have to be located in the professional sector where image quality is paramount, I auctioned a nearly new "Fujifilm FinePix X10" on Ebay. The previous owner had bought mid Mai`12 Amazon. The camera makes a very solid and high quality impression, it is small, handy and retro design is particularly attractive, especially for the older generations. The X10 has really everything you need, sufficient 12 megapixels, a high-quality optical viewfinder with diopter compensation, a large for the compact class 2/3 "sensor and in particular a bright zoom lens with wide aperture (F2.0) and 28-112mm focal length, and a retractable push of a button flash. In the wide-angle, you can see the lens in the optical viewfinder (in the lower right corner), what you have to get used to. The Lens Zoom does not take place as usual on key operation, but about turning the lens ring, which allows a more manageable setting and when you turn in a professional figure (like the old days). Original is the fact that the X10 switched on by turning the lens ring on or off. The Setup menu is concise held and does not seem too. Besides the usual automatic modes like Program AE, Aperture u. Priority Auto can still own two configurations are stored that can be accessed via the Mode Dial. Of course, a wide variety of creative settings for particular scenes can be selected and configured. The image files are stored on SD-card in JPG and / or RAW format. The employed with me in the camera 32GB SDHC card displays more than 6,500 "free" photos in the highest resolution (JPG format only). The X10 can be filmed in full HD, which I will probably never even use, because for this purpose camcorders are the better choice. Particularly's credit is that the X10 alternative batteries not disdain NP-50. So one does not rely on the manufacturer's own battery, which protects the wallet. Certainly, many underperforming NP-50 battery frolicking in the market but who has a high-quality charger, with which the battery is directly driven (an extra charging cradle), which can test the capacity themselves and sort out bad batteries. As a rule, should be a good battery afford to 850-1000mAh, a little less is acceptable. The X10 can be connected via USB cable to the PC, unfortunately, the camera will appear only in Windows Explorer own and not in the Commander's own choice. Also you have not installed the usual mini-USB socket, so one has to rely on Fuji's own cable. A standard carrying bag is now also no longer "in". During my first photo test was to determine that the camera slightly lightens in low light, exposed rather normal in full sunshine. You have to try something, to find the optimal setting for themselves and readjust. In order to exhaust the intricacies of the camera, you will generally have a highest resolution. So I came up among others in the following menu settings:
ISO: AUTO800 Image Size: L 4: 3 Picture Quality: F (fine) Dynamic range: Car Color: STD (Standard) Focus: MHART Sound lights: STD Schattier.Ton: MWEICH (some brightening darker areas of the image) Noise Reduction: MNIED >>> Belichtungsrad on: -0.33 (1 notch) In the reviews I always unsettled the detected white-disc phenomenon. Hoping to have caught an error-free X10, I tried to find those white discs and "provoke" my X10. To see how this "white slices" representing in the photos, I found on the Internet a few images for comparison that were mainly recorded at night and where sometimes even EXIF data were available. So I switched directly in 3 tea lights in dark places, with exposure + 0.33 / 0 / -0.33 / -0.67 / -1.0 in the exposure compensation toward minus the shots were better or more realistic. I also photographed in dark twilight in our county seat, the animated with numerous lanterns shopping street and a good traffic roundabout to stress the X10 with car headlights. And I kept the above setup settings + Program AE and tested at all stages of exposure by dial from zero down (0 / -0.33 / -0.67 / -1.00 / -1.33 / -1, 67 / -2.00). The X10 brightens neatly so that almost looked like in exposure level 0 photos a day. From -0.67 to -1.00, the photos were handsome, best managed and most realistic they were at -2.00 exposure. It is very surprising how well absorbs the X10 in low light conditions without flash. The desired white discs I could find not a single photo. In conclusion, I can only say that my little statement is not intended to be exhaustive. Certainly there are many other settings, for example in manual range. From me it was just a quick test, as an old Hobbyknipser. I'm actually very happy with the performance of the X10, the current selling price I think is justified. Desirable Währe still a small hole in the nose high quality lens cap to attach it by means of a fishing line to the support bracket. So it does not fall down accidentally and without looking at hand.
