The tripod is basically not bad, would you shake the just for the occasional snapshot otherwise. However, for larger cameras it is too weak. Have tested the tripod with my Canon Ixus i7, Canon EOS 7D, Sony DSC-R1 and my camcorder HDC-SD66. For the 7D and the R1 the tripod is simply too weak, the ball mount is not designed for it. For Ixus i7 and the camcorder I find the tripod is very convenient as it is very small and yet allows one or the other wobble-free snapshot on the fly. Also in the video area can be, thanks to the very low stand when, create interesting effects / recordings.
Minor irregularities in the ground can be on the up to 8cm in addition pullout "legs" to compensate. (Total length then 13cm, altitude reached up camera pad 18cm, minimal height when inserted "legs" 10cm)
Conclusion: For smaller cameras / camcorders a good, small tripod, but for larger bridge cameras / DSLR's not really useful, therefore only 4 stars.
