Personally, I'm used to rely on the use of a tablet notebook. These devices bring it with you, that they are quite small and it easily with 12.1 inches. But hours of work on such a small display on the desk at home thus becomes a torture. Now up to 1.5GB graphics memory to me are indeed available, but this is not enough to have a native resolution of 1600 * 1050 display flicker. Apart from the fact that my tablet has only an analog VGA output.
With such a great graphics card, which is connected using the supplied USB cable, I can now easily display on my external monitor this resolution. The processing of the hardware is solid and appealing. All contacts are gold-plated. For the price quite reasonable.
The enclosed driver was installed without any problems and recognized the hardware after a restart immediately. The included manual is indeed entirely in English, but complicated installation procedures are not necessary in any case, so that a look at the manual is basically unnecessary.
The pop-up menu that appears when you click on the new icon in the toolbar is also held in German.
This pop-up menu holds with one click important and useful functions instantly "click away" without continually Control Panel> Display to change the modes. Thus, with a single click the "Notebook Monitor Off", "Mirror", "expand", "expand up / down / left / right", "rotation", "Resolution" to select more.
The fast-access function "Notebook Monitor Off" is very convenient as every time when the notebook is reconnected to the external display, the desktop is displayed on notebook and monitor. This will unnecessarily consume computing power, so a native resolution of the monitor is not possible. With the function "Notebook Monitor Off" this is turned off when connected to the external display and an excellent digital resolution is possible. Razor sharp and even with 22-inch monitors in excellent image quality.
However, it does now and then noticed that unfortunately no "full" video card is at work, but just one that is operated externally via USB. So under Vista draws the animated screen minimize to the taskbar after a slight haze. Also jumping through open windows with [Windows] + [Tab] extends not quite as smoothly as one would perhaps normally would. In this respect, I can imagine that the graphics card for highly demanding computing services such as. Games and other 3D applications, does not have enough power. For is not even 60 and you can surely expect but may also not have full-fledged graphics card replacement!
Etc. videos, high-resolution movies but are of course represented smoothly and smoothly without image artifacts, flicker, etc.
In summary: a strong buy recommendation to all those who otherwise have to stare at small 12 inch monitors and home at least want to pleasantly work on a large monitor and operate any high resolution, fast graphics applications.
Who has no digital video output at its notebook, get here for little money accessory that keeps its promises and is extensively used thanks to the adapter.
What more do you want !? But there's 5 high resolution and crisp star!
