Since under this review page many different devices are discussed, the Note: this review refers to the switch Etekcity 3 * 1 HDMI Switch Full HD PIP. The name describes the function: A small box combines a screen with optional one of 3 image sources and this in HD quality. The delivery consists of the small box, the MATCHING power supply, a mini remote control (thankfully used with battery) and a short instructions in English and German - cable you have to get themselves so. First impression: surprisingly small (about cigarette box-size), well labeled and self explanatory, in effect connecting the cables and power supply and you can already back on a button on the unit or on the remote control between the various input signals and forth-off. I use the part as opposed to probably the most (which want to change rather re stuck between TV receiver, DVD / BluRay player and computer without a cable) as a switch between different computers. Although unlike KVM switches only image and sound will be, not the mouse and keyboard - but I have an extra handy Bluetooth keyboard or a wireless USB mouse rather than the impenetrable cable-jumble. Notebooks have eh mouse and keyboard. To change for the intended use, between multiple computers I'm excited: The picture is fine with all tested devices and cables, stable and sharp up to 1920 * 1080 resolution (the possible 4K * 2Kbei 30 Hz and Full HD in 3D I could not test ). Switching will take about one second and takes place with no visible flicker noise etc. With the appropriate device configuration and the sound (via HDMI cable) is switched. And it works, of course (tested Win7, Linux Mint, Android 4.2. And ChromeOS) operating system independent and even with intermediary adapters cables (DVI to HDMI). Well like I have little things of service concept: Per display on the device shows which outputs not used (no LED), inactive (red) and active (green) are. The brightness is perfect: clearly seen on the lit work desk, but no light organ in the dark room. The remote control is leichtgüngig, but has much unnecessary buttons for larger models. You can also switch on the device itself with a strong, but too much pressure point: You have to hold the whole device in order not to push it back. Pfiffig the detail that is automatically switched when connecting a new source on this. And what was surprisingly useful for my application range, is the picture in picture function: By pressing a button small images with the outputs of other sources on the main screen 2 appears. Very good to work on a computer and to observe how an extensive update on the other passes or intervention makes necessary or when the late movie begins. What I would hope would be a way to move the on-screen images to a place where they do not interfere. The processing makes a surprisingly good impression and the part looks really good, I'm really surprised how much functionality and quality you get for the price. Except for two details (superfluous knobs and hard pressure point) everything perfectly and therefore 5 star for this purpose.
