Volume: When copying / printing devices achieve measured about 67 dBA in the middle distance of 1 m. The sound is so clearly audible but not noisy. Netzteilfiepen occurred so far does not occur.
Ink: The devices have their Black and White setup cartridges now depleted and thus at least 2000 to 3000 sides reached in predominantly medium quality setting. So I assume that the Druckerchannel results apply in practice.
Paper handling and printing speed: scanner, duplex printing function and so far without any problems on ordinary office paper. In the paper tray fits a ream if it is 70 gr / m2 paper, otherwise rather slightly less. The pace at regular office printing is compelling and, at best, close to the factory specification. Also, the duplex mode for the first time makes fun because fast and reliable. The auxiliary cassette also holds the same amount of paper, and even has a flap to remove jammed paper at the left side. The additive cartridge must be registered in the printer driver.
Driver and Software: We each have installed only the most essential programs. That worked under OS X and Windows XP, Windows 7 well. The printers are all connected via LAN. Also works the fax driver, but is rarely needed with us. The offered by HP Web apps we do not use a testhalber tried registering for this purpose has not worked. iOS devices also print without any problems.
Reason for using this printer: The Officejet Pro devices have previously used a major design flaw with us. The paper is conveyed from front to back and back. To keep it safe love in the paper edition, it is necessary to fully extend the available excerpts of the paper output trays. Thus, the setting depth and the space required to grow very strongly and actually these little plastic pieces stuck often in the available transport route and broke off frequently.
The new device, however feed the paper transverse to the front of the printer and do not need therefore so much actual parking space in the depth. Another very important feature for me.
So far we have not regretted the purchase and look forward to a long life of equipment. Bravo HP!
Update:
Meanwhile, a large part of the printer went defective. We had already extended warranty system sold in advance, after all, it is a new printing technology. The HP support each worked quite well in the end and the devices were each replaced. Apparently, the number of printed pages not the decisive criterion. These products range in our 80000-10000 pages and always after about nearly 2 years.
As before, I am very excited about the other properties of the device and if they work then good. It does not matter whether under Windows XP / 7 or OS X. On a Ubuntu, the unit can be installed with a mouse click.
I now reducing my rating to 4 stars because I expect from HP simply better life products.
