Anna Netrebko is not for nothing that the most sought after currently soprano. However, I could not fully convince their CDs: The CD "Opera Arias" (due to excessive fixation on Rossini and Donizetti), "Sempre Libera" (also Bellini and some Verdi operas are not my case), "Souvenirs" ( is only for fans of operetta) and "Duets" (Rolando Villazon I can listen to only a very limited extent, the one not to the first guard of the tenors, no comparison with Jose Cura for example) are all well done but nothing unusual for me. This has come up with "Anna - The Best of Anna Netrebko" changed: Have gefundebn no song during the first hearing, which has not totally convinced me. No wonder, since Puccini's arias were already during his lifetime hits, not only classical music lovers and Mozart operas "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Don Giovanni" are surely beyond doubt!
For me, Anna Netrebko is the best and especially the most perfect soprano for nearly 20 years. The 70s were dominated by Mirella Freni and Jessye Norman (for me when she was unequaled early 70s still soprano), in the '80s liked Kiri te Kanawa and especially Barbara Hendricks, who has unfortunately been prescribed later the Spirituals, on best. I would like to mention the only German soprano of the first rank, Elsabeth Schwarzkopf. She was unequaled as a Mozart singer in the 50s.
