I have my daughter purchased the software because of the good reviews so far and in the faith to acquire a technically current program. According to system requirements at amazon here Windows2000, Vista and XP is given, so really not a problem. Vista and Windows 7 are approximately equal to the kernel here, so you rarely even here problems. On the Windows 7 computer my daughter, I unfortunately have to realize that was other than a black screen to hear the sound, the program itself was not run. The website of Cornelsen seem to know the problem, but it does not recommend any user urgently the compatibility mode for Windows 95/98 / Me (!!) to use, so that would run smoothly the program. Unfortunately, that does not work, because according to package the program expects a screen resolution of 800x600 in 16-bit color depth (!!). Anyone who operates a standard widescreen with normal resolution and 32-bit color depth, is unfortunately experiencing his black miracle here. Only the manual switch to the compatibility mode is counseling and the lower screen resolution, including reduction to 256 colors, then promotes a program to light that seems to have sprung from the PC-Middle Ages.
My Conclusion: Software that fails to conform to a current operating system and apparently outdated is such that even an experienced system administrator as I amazed first should be distributed as school and learning software without major update. Although known is the school computer systems are all outdated, but many a child has at home are fairly recent hardware. Technically I can of this product therefore only advise, because it no longer meets the standard of today's software.
