1- WEMO install the application on your smartphone,
2- connect your smartphone to create your wireless intelligent socket,
3- configure the plug through the application: setting your home wifi network for the taking,
4- reconnect your smartphone to your home wifi.
Simple ... but I have to take me 2-3 times ... okay ...
A good point: the MAC address of the socket is marked on the plug. For those like me filters MAC address on their network a nice touch.
The system works perfectly, as you are at home (on your WiFi network) or outside: it's perfect.
The "controlled socket" incorporates an easily accessible switch on the front panel that allows to dispense with the smartphone (as long as the plug is accessible): this is an excellent point.
The main problem now, but that should be fixed easily if Belkin gives itself the means, concerns the smartphone application. IPhone she plants quite frequently (1 out of 10 times I would say) and it's annoying. Then she sorely lacking in features. For example in programming option of taking a "turn on / off 15 minutes after my departure" is very tempting ... but is not accessible today. The programming functions to turn on or off by operating against perfectly. We would suddenly have a potentiometer function to be able to control the brightness of its lighting ... and tomorrow thermostat integrating this function.
Belkin really made a master stroke with this switch. Looking forward: new versions of the applications and especially new devices bring new features (potentiometer, the power consumption display, ...).
