A somewhat strange point is the energy saving concept. Actually, you hereby given a lot of effort: after printing, the device reduces power consumption in several stages so that one hand subsequent print jobs will not be delayed, but not on the other hand unnecessary energy is consumed. For longer periods of consumption drops even below 0.5 W. Here it is a lot of the savings results in negating that the printer does not use the power saving mode when a "present error that must be eliminated". Such an error is already available when the remaining lifetime of the four toner cartridges or other consumables (image drum, transfer belt, fuser) has reached 10%. A total of 7 consumables have to assume that while about half of the operating time of any one of them is under 10%. Thus, the printer consumes a large part of the time instead of the promised 0.5 W at least about 7 watts - without having to print even a single leaf.
Oki is the printer 3-year warranty with on-site service within 1 working day, provided you registered within 30 days of purchase at Oki and uses only original consumables.
Setting up the printer for PC and Mac is actually simple, but is not absolutely clear what you have to install the packages offered and which are likely not needed. Well, nowadays disk space is cheap, so you can live with the fact that maybe a tool has been installed, which you do not need.
There are plenty of configuration options, which are explained in the operating instructions properly after all. They can make from the control panel and two-line display on the device - much more convenient and easier it is to bring up the web interface in the printer properties. There you can virtually configure everything - here you can see that the device is designed more for professional users and less for personal use.
The printer has been with us right away work from both your PC and from your Mac easily. The print quality I find very good - even photos are surprisingly well reproduced.
Who attracts buying the printer into consideration, should be clear about that the device is really big (504 mm x 410 mm x 242 mm) and heavy (22 kg). The base is therefore almost as big as two A3 sheets next to each other - it can not hurt, therefore, first time to measure whether the device can also accommodate reasonable. This is in my view so far the only downside besides the problem with the energy savings.
How does the device suggests the long run and whether the consumables actually last as long as promised, I can not say now - but I will add this, as experience is accumulated.
Actually, I'd give it 5 stars - for the faulty power management, I prefer from 1 star.
