I have the device (available after I had 24 hours leave !!!) equal switched morning after airing. The noise of the fan on a larger stage is unacceptable for residential or office. Nevertheless, I let the machine lauufen in this stage until noon. - Those who want to celebrate in the party room, while the humidity was too high, which can safely cover the fan noise well with the music.
I found at noon on the first try tags that not too much water in the tank was, as I thought, that only around 0.1 liters. The unit had but brought the humidity in the room from 78% to 60% down.
I then reduced the fan to half power. That sounded a lot better, but was still extremely annoying in the long run. I put my ear plugs in his ears, and worked until evening.
With less fan speed I could hear every few minutes, like dripping from the condenser of the unit water into the container. That had not been previously detected. It was found that the high fan speed is not necessary at a room temperature of around 20 ° C and more and very wahrscheinlkich even counterproductive. For the evening, almost 1.9 liters of water found in the tank! However, the humidity remained at 60%.
On the second test day I let the machine also run immediately after completion of the nightly airing on small fan level. My thermometer / hygrometer showed 20 ° C and 75% humidity, the dehumidifier was at about 80%, because the moisture falsified the measurement in the device itself.
Within 1 hour my thermo / hygrometer showed 21.7 ° C to only 63% moisture. The device indicated 66%. It should be noted that the rel. Humidity has already taken, therefore, because the air has become warmer by the waste heat of the dehumidifier. (Warm air can hold more moisture.)
I let the machine run and reached after 1.5 hours of operation at the thermo / hygrometer at 22 ° C, 61% relative humidity. The device showed this to 64%. Consumes I had brought about 360 watt-hour capacity.
Because I felt good at these values, I turned the power off completely. About 2 hours later, I had another 65% humidity at 22.2 ° C in the room and the air began to bother me again. So unit on again!
About the technology:
The unit has been carefully manufactured, the plastic casing is solid and acts wertig its successful design. The construction is apparently already optimized that the housing only slightly resonates and radiates sound. The hum of the compressor motor happens to be inevitable and who still want to slightly mute the device should provide for example on off-cuts of a thick carpet. The same applies to the fan: Where so much air is moved, one just has noise.
Here, however, my first review: The fan really needs only enough air to convey that it is ensured that the capacitor does not ice up. Consequently, the fans needed an ambient temperature-dependent speed control, SSO as üüblich nowadays in any computer. As can be expected in living rooms with temperatures around 20 ° C, according to my experiments much potential is there to make the fan spin more slowly and thus quieter.
A second point of criticism concerns the measurement of humidity through the device. Since the measuring probe (presumably a piezoelectric sensor) is housed in the device itself, it does not measure the humidity of the ambient air, but the moisture in the device. If the unit shuts down after reaching the preset humidity value, warms Duch the heated engine and compressor and the condenser still dripping wet. From the moisture rises to the sensor. And consequently measures a too high humidity and the unit switches immediately back on. I observed that the rest of the unit were partly in just 1 minute.
The switching threshold between power cycle is 5% humidity.
This coupled with the high level of noise leads to an even stronger perceived annoyance of the device. But even that such frequent switching on and off is harmful to the compressor and shortening its life expected. Bottom line: One should prefer the device in continuous mode to operate until subjective or through the display of the device has the impression that it had been dehumidified enough. Then the device switches off completely! - The automatic works at least not because the sensor is installed in the device. The sensors have to be separately connected by a cable or wirelessly coupled to the device.
By the way: While the unit is dehumidified, the displayed humidity value of the device is pretty much and agrees with my thermo / hygrometer match!
If one but install a temperature control for the fan speed and disconnect the sensor from the device, the device would likely become more expensive at least 50%. My wishes so do not fit the price range, in the play of this unit. But when I look at how carefully, solid and clean the dehumidifier is built, then you get a lot of value for your money.
Who can tinker electronics and wants can be retrofitted for the fan (230V!), A temperature control and unsolder the sensor from the control board and settle with a cord from the unit.
What I had not thought in my application is the heating of rooms Duch, the waste heat of the dehumidifier. One has the effect of reducing unpleasant high humidity, increasing the temperature is troublesome.
Whether the dehumidifier really can provide the maximum 16 liters dehumidification capacity within 24 hours, I doubt it. Under real housing conditions (see above), making sure that this is not the device! I reached around 1.9 liters in 10 hours of functioning at approximately 62m³ room size and about 22 ° C @ 60% RH. Presumably manages the dehumidification only under very extreme conditions such as an ambient temperature at which the capacitor so just now not iced and is also the humidity close to 100% and almost 100% remains, while the unit is running. I consider this statement for a more theoretical value.
Likewise, the nominal connection value simulates a larger capacity than is actually achieved. The specific power consumption is measured at maximum fan speed around 245 watts and 225 watts at low fan speed.
So whether the device is suitable for 80m³ large spaces, such is highly dependent on the specific environmental conditions and the goals you want to achieve, that this information has surprisingly little significance.
Qintessenz when used in a residential office / home office, small office:
No automatic mode with preset humidity. At the beginning of the working ventilate vigorously and then dehumidify small fan level. When the air is acceptable, switch off the unit. As soon as one takes a break or leaves the room, switch device on again.
But if you have a lot of materials in the office or the home, absorb moisture, this "Interval dehumidification" will hardly suffice.
Whether the other party to the interval operation comfort someone is the money for the equipment value, everyone must decide for themselves. I see in any case that my laser printer and the stored printer paper suffer from high humidity!
Another application:
I have tried the unit to get in the bedroom which also after releasing excessive moisture out. After suffering here, the clothes in the closet. And it does not feel so great about to lie down in a damp bed with damp bedding. The dehumidifier took over 1.5 hours to reach here useful values of around 60% humidity, although the room was only about 30 m³. Presumably there is a big difference when the moisture is bound in textiles and should also be removed from it. Because the humidity must indeed be released from the textile into the room air only once before then the dehumidifier can remove moisture.
