Many TV sets (including my smart TV Samsung 40UE7090) have now only an optical audio output and a rear headphone jack. The problem at the headphone output: The socket I difficulties accessing and extensions for wall mounting fail because the plug forcibly the TV speakers are switched off. So what to do?
I needed a solution for the operation of loudspeakers and at the same time cordless headphones.
Synchronous should seek to use headphones, and audio on the TV?
Solution: Buy above box, stuck to the optical output of the TV and give the signal to a Bluetooth transmitter. There were on TV USB ports, accounted charmingly the additional power supply and cables. Another advantage: The device is off when the TV is off. As Bluetooth transmitters is with me a Avantree APT-X transmitter. The receiver is also the APT-X enabled Samsung Headset HS-3000 headset. Total cost of the solution: 75 including ear headphones!
The DA converter (Type B) is small + flat, fits loosely behind the TV set. It has two digital inputs (RCA + Tosklink) and 2 analog outputs (3.5mm earphone + 2 RCA jacks). The device comes well packed with USB connection cable and Quick Start Guide. The manufacturer / distributor shipped fast and reliable!
Technically, it works flawlessly. Unfortunately, the output level is a little low, so a star deduction! All in all I am satisfied!
