Something too much Neil, for too little Steve Morse

Rarely have I been so excited to see how the Flying Colors on a second album of a band that counts but the debut work and the subsequent live DVD with the impressive things about what has appeared to me in terms of rock music in recent years. So now I SECOND NATURE probably already 10x consulted and find it to be very slightly towards Transatlantic Solo - drifts Neil Morse. Not only the playing time of each track, but above all on song structure and the rhythm changes you notice the swing towards ProgRock who was so strongly not played on the debut album. In addition, the keyboard moved at the expense of a little guitar in the foreground, which for me is one of the reasons, not the highest score, but to forgive just good 4 stars. Outstanding I find on the album singer Casey McPherson, who has an extremely pleasant, warm voice, especially when he sings in lower pitches. Genial I find Dave LaRue what these with his bass for barrels produced without forgetting the Songdienlichkeit, is sensational. OPEN UP YOUR EYES bit exhausting as the opening number, but makes the same attention to the style of swing. As you can hear out the Transatlantic influence the most.
MASK MACHINE pretty pumped rock number, similar to the debut album woulda, coulda, shoulda pulls the second track of the album to the speed and rock tidy. However, unlike woulda whose catchy, driving riff I lack. I am not convinced 100%.
Bombs Away much ProgRock, but at the highest level.
THE FURY OF MY LOVE my favorite song on Second Nature. A killer ballad, sung incredibly well. Should actually in 2nd place all charts are (according to Mr. Big JUST LET YOUR HEART DECIDE). 2nd place because of the song for me unnecessarily to drink Some tilts in Prog, the bombastic keyboards to the end of the song should really be no more. This song could have quit after 4 minutes without much showmanship and he would have remained in my opinion stronger and catchier. Outstanding Casey McPherson
A PLACE IN YOUR WORLD sets also going very quiet but develops into a hochmelodiösen pop / rock number. Not too complicated set up, but extremely friendly ears, the refrain might come from Asia / Boston or ELO. Very catchy and good.
Lost Without You Here it gets a little more rock again, more of a song that would have space on the 1st album.
ONE LOVE FOREVER sorry Flying Colors, but the little I can start. Prog meets Irish Folk. With addition of something that sounds like Scottish bagpipes fan
PEACEFUL HARBOR Flying Colors meets Leonard Cohen, great-sung ballad, although a little more guitar is likely to be for me even with ballads.
COSMIC SYNPHONY Dream Theater / Transatlantic send their regards. Langer, varied song with me specially the grandiose final part sung like best.
Although it does not fully reach for me the first book, it is whining at a high level. For me, Second Nature is necessarily somewhere to buy 8.9 out of 10 points in any case.
