The Sony HDR AS 30 is a handy action camera, however provide attachment points without special housing. The image stabilizer, which works only in 120 ° angle of view, works very well and also ensures the car for a quiet video image. Unfortunately, the camera instantly in full HD (1920 x 1080) at 120 ° angle of no more detail than in normal HD (1280 x 720): Only high-contrast edges are a little smoother. The sound is good and will be even better with an external microphone. However, this is only possible with a waiver of the waterproof case, as it makes the interfaces inaccessible. For use in the car, the camera is after all only conditionally suitable, since there is no option for a manual exposure compensation so far and so the video is overexposed through the windshield often. The GPS is reliable but not very accurate and provides at best a rough indication about the position and speed. Transferring the movies via the integrated WLAN to the computer will not succeed: it is probably intended only for connection with mobile phones, smartphones & co. Too bad.
